How we review

ToolStackPulse publishes side-by-side software comparisons for operators who need a clear buying call—not a vendor brochure. This page explains how ratings are built, what we ignore, and how often pages are refreshed.
What we compare
Each review puts two products in the same category through the same checklist: core workflow fit, feature depth, pricing clarity, onboarding friction, admin/security posture where relevant, and day-to-day usability for the teams that actually ship work.
How scores work
Product ratings are on a 0–5 scale. We weight documented capabilities, current pricing signals, and editorial judgment from hands-on research and public product materials. The composite score on a comparison page is the average of both products. A higher score means a stronger overall fit for the buying job we scoped—not a claim that one vendor wins every use case.
Independence
Affiliate commissions never decide coverage, scores, or rankings. If a product underperforms for the job, we say so even when a partner link is available. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how reader-supported funding works.
Sources and limits
We use vendor docs, pricing pages, product UIs, and category research. Software changes quickly—always confirm contracts, limits, and security claims with the vendor before you buy. Reviews are decision aids, not legal, financial, or implementation advice.
Updates
Comparison pages show an updated date when we refresh ratings, pricing, or the written recommendation. High-traffic matchups are revisited first when products ship major pricing or feature changes.
